Amazon Image is the brain child
of Seila Eluan. Because she spent the majority of her life
in Brazil, she understands the importance of preserving the
environment of her homeland. She has seen first hand the devastation
of the rain forest just in her lifetime. She realized that
she can make a differ by not only creating a unique and stunning
fashion line, but provide opportunity to the indigenous peoples
of her native land and preserve what is left of the environment
that is the inspiration behind much of what she produces.
Our mission is to create ecologically
friendly products that are economically viable to the indigenous
peoples of equatorial rain forest regions. Seila's fashions
not only express the spirit of the region, but help to hearken
the destruction of the environment that is so close to her
heart.
Not only are our fashions unique
and beautiful, they are good for the planet.
The rain forests are being destroyed
at an alarming rate. Unchecked, our future on this beautiful
planet is on the balance. There is no reason that the resources
of these tropical forests can not be utilized, while still
preserving their delicate ecology.
The forest are destroyed so corporations
around the world can exploit the abundant resources, with little
our no regard as to the effect not only on the aboriginal cultures
that depend on the forest for their existence, but the entire
planet that is rapidly shifting in climate as a direct result
of these practices.
Our materials are harvested from
their natural environments, without disturbing the habitat
which so much beautiful flora and fauna depends upon to survive.
All of the materials are made from from natural products harvested
without disturbing the delicate ecology of the region. What's
more, alternative opportunities are provided to the natives
of the region to help support their families and preserve the
environments from which they depend to survive.
We are proving that business can
exist in harmony with the environment. We don't exploit native
peoples in third world countries, rather we provide them with
an opportunity to supplement their incomes and preserve the
environments which they depend upon for their existence.
We are watching aboriginal culture
being assimilated and their traditions and cultures being decimated
as the forest canopy is being destroyed to produce ranches
and plantations, as well as harvesting timber for use in products
for which there are viable alternatives.
This is our philosophy and the
fashions we create are not only ecological sound, but unique
and beautiful.
